does not contain case-shot material. This is an example of the most common Federal
3-inch Schenkl projectile manufactured. According to Abbot's
Siege Artillery in
the Campaigns Against Richmond, the Schenkl brass percussion fuze was 82% effective.
Over 125,000 3-inch Schenkl shells were purchased by the Federal Ordnance
