A rare shell for the
8-inch Brooke rifle, without bourrelets, the projectile body is machined to bore size with
a rebated ogive. The fuzing is very unusual: a long copper tube is inserted in
a copper fuze plug, the tube receiving a paper time fuze. Exact reason for this
arrangement is unknown.
