This is a very modern,
in concept, armor punching bolt. It has a ratcheted head, to bite the armor and a
considerable amount of the projectile body milled away to lighten the projectile, in order
to gain a higher velocity. The sabot is affixed by means of a large square
projection on the base of the projectile, slopes splines on the projectile base, fitting
into corresponding grooves in the sabot and a large iron bolt.
