Great Britain Whitworth 80 pdr Shell (p. 214)

Whitworth shells were not very effective, due to the very small cavity for the bursting charge, necessary to their design.  In the United States the 5-inch Whitworth Rifle is referred to as an 80-pounder and in Great Britain, a 70-pounder.
